Identity Theft
Identity theft has rapidly become serious business and a major public concern . The effects of identity theft can be devastating. One thing we know: The number one way to protect yourself from identity theft is to protect your social security number. Below are the best links we could find on identity theft.Guarding Against Credit Card FraudTips to help protect yourself from credit and charge card fraud Do:
- Sign new credit cards as soon as they arrive at your home. Keep a photocopy of your credit cards - front and rear. This method preserves for you the card number, expiration dates, and the phone number and address of each company. When possible try to watch your card during the transaction, and get it back as quickly as possible. Write "Void" incorrect receipts. Destroy the actual black carbon between the merchant copy and your copy. Save receipts to compare with your billing statements. Reconcile credit card accounts monthly, just like you do with your checking account.
Promptly report, by phone and in writing, any questionable charges to the card issuer.
Notify credit card companies of any change in address.
Don't:
Don't leave credit cards or receipts lying around.
Don't sign a blank receipt.
Don't give your credit card account number over the phone unless you're making the call to a company you know is reputable.
Tell me about getting started with the shoplifting class.
It really is pretty simple. The first thing you do is get registered so you can take your online shoplifting class - it's free to register. Try not to register more than one time, you will likely lose track of your usernames and passwords and need to call our help center.
When you register you will be asked to input your email address. This becomes important because after you register for the shoplifting class you will be sent an auto generated email confirming your registration. If you don't get an email right away we suggest you check your spam or junk-mail to see if it is there. You will also be asked for the email address of the person who referred you to our shoplifting class (If you have it). It is usually worth taking the time to get that person's email address because that person is sent a confirmation that you got registered for the shoplifting class and again when you complete your shoplifting class.
Pick your class, click on the PayPal/Credit Card icon to pay for your shoplifting class and you are ready to go.
